The movie is set in an alternate time line, therefore TOS has a completely different series of events then the new moviePr

Bummer how Vulcan was destroyed...even if it was in an alternate reality.

Which to me means that it never really happened, at least from MY frame of reference. So I just ignore the whole thing!

I loved the film, it's the reason I came back to Star Trek. Now I'll need to see if I can find any TOS episodes anywhere - I don't think I've ever actually seen it!
Which seems to be the main denominater between those who were annoyed by the film and those who wholeheartedly love it - unfamiliarity with TOS.

In my opinion...both realities exist, that is with and without the planet Vulcan.........

They can maybe stop the disaster in the alternate time line or at least evacuate to a safe location. They have a 129 years.

I agree with Andrew. They do have time to maybe contact the other parallel universe. And I liked the movie, parallel universe or not. Even though I hadn't seen any other Star Trek thing before it, I have watched all but 2 episodes of TOS and plan to watch TNG next. ;D I just hope they can find some way to get Vulcan back. But remember, the Vulcans are colonating another planet, so don't worry about it so much!

All they need in the alternate reality is information from the older Spock about the details.

Yes but if they did evacuate to a different place what about all those antient artefacts(vulcun ones) found on episodes.

Those artifacts were left in the places they were between 1500 and 2000 years earlier than the 24th century.
