What is your favourite Q episode on The Next Generation and why? Mine is definatly Deja Q. This is the episode when Q is stripped of his powers

I must admit I was torn between "Encounter At Farpoint" and "All Good Things...", but in the end, the latter won. I think in the final episode, Q not only supports Picard by surprising the Q Continuum that humanity can still evolve, but also makes Picard realize how precious his times with his crew are, making him join the officers' poker game for the first time, regretting not having done so before.

I'm having a hard time deciding which is my favorite Q episode. One of my favorites was "Tapestry" I also like the episodes where Q lost his powers and the Voyager one with Quinn!

Yes, Q2. I've recently purchased the Q Fan Collective - but I'm still looking for that perfect weekend to watch it!

In my opinion, Q was only good in the first episode and in the last. Most of the rest of the time he was just tolerable. So I voted for the first.

I conclude from the findings that "all good things" was the favourite.....

All Good Things... was a very epic episode and definitely a great one. But at the end of the day I think I'd say Tapestry is my favorite Q episode (though seeing Q as God kind of frightened me ). Q may have been a nemesis of Picard and a deadly opponent to get on his bad side, but it was episodes like this that showed Q really wasn't all bad and that he did sort of even care what happened to Picard. After all, he offered the good captain a second chance at life, and even after telling him that if he didn't prevent the fight with the Nausicaan, Picard would die on the table -- at the end when Picard decided not to alter events Q still let him live -- all because the lesson was the important thing. Every event in our life, whether significant or seemingly insignificant, can have a great impact on our lives.

I'm only on season 6 of TNG and so I haven't seen all the Q episodes. I've actually just seen for the first time True Q today and I enjoyed that one although it wasn't as fun as some of the ones shown in the earlier seasons.

That's a good question. What, exactly, IS the deal with Q? That's why we have these discussions. What do you think?

Well, put yourself in Q's place. If you had all the power in the universe, would you want to have a bit of fun with it? I don't know if I would be as petulant as Q if I had it, but it's hard to say unless you're put in his position. But with all the power in the universe and having an infinite life span, you have all the time in the world to amass knowledge and wisdom. While Q did seem to be a pest at times and put the crew in unneccessary risk from time to time, he always had a valuable lesson for the crew to learn. I guess Q just feels you learn better by doing, so he put the crew in those situations.
