As I explained in another forum, christianjames, I wholeheartedly agree that I would love to see what comes next. I've never been a fan of prequels, but I still watched Enterprise and the new Star Trek movie because hey, new Trek is new Trek and they were still enjoyable to watch. However, it seems to me that Enteprise's decline was not because it was a prequel show. Enterprise's decline happened when they decided to try something new (Star Trek fans seem to hate new things and prefer the old formula of exploration). The ratings really started to decline in season three, when the producers decided to try a new thing: An overarching story through the entire season (in this case, the Xindi story arc) and this ratings decline resulted in its cancellation (until enough fans wrote in to request a continuation of it), but ratings still declined in its fourth season (which had the gimmick of three-part story arcs and an occasional two-parter, with one-part episodes once in awhile). Personally, I would have loved for Enterprise to continue until its seventh season but that was the main reason the producers decided Star Trek needed a reboot. At least we did get treated to a few tidbits of the Federation's future (such as the glimpse into the 26th century at a future Enterprise, where the Klingon Empire had joined the Federation). Unfortunately I doubt the prime universe will ever be visited on screen again, but at least Star Trek has a rich history behind it.

your sugesting there that there will not be any more star trek made for tv. Star trek is about one thing for the studio and one thing only..making money. they cant make anything out of it if they arnt producing it. it might take five years or even ten, perhaps even 15, but it will return one day once they have hammered the hell out of re-runs and dvd sales have subsided. untill then, just make sure you all head to the cinema in 2012 for the next movie.

Oh, I will. Opening day just like I did for the new Star Trek movie.
And I am seriously holding out hope for a new Star Trek series. Every once in awhile there will be an article on startrek.com discussing the possibility of a new series.

I am also not a great lover of prequels, they seem to clash so often with "Canon" (I donĀ“t believe much in that either) I am hoping that any new series, will coninue in the present universe and either at the same time or after TNG DS9 and Voyager
