I know the one you mean! I can't think of the title either, but I think it was a first season episode, back when they still didn't trust T'Pol. That's probably what made it so interesting.

It was one of the early episodes from the 1st season, but I do not recall the name of the episode either. I'm reasonably sure the crew, except for T"Pol was effected by some sort of micro organism.

I was a huge fan of the episodes that stood on their own merit without including elements from later trek series. For example, "First Flight" was great.

Is this the one where Archer was telling T'Pol about how the engine was developed? As for the other question, I think that when the brought in elements from the later series, they generally messed them up. I personally didn't like the idea of Dr. Soong being the creator of the Augments, myself.

Atoz. DR Soong tried to modify the augments DNA so they would not be so aggressive. The augments were made 150 or so years before the time of enterprise. Dr Soong believed they were the future, but this was not a good idea because humanity was not mature enough not to revert back to their old ways and not to be psychopathic, and lusting for power, violent in nature! Phlox said the on Denoblia, that genetic engineering had been perfected and beneficial for 200 years.

I didn't like them very much, either. As much as I liked seeing Brent Spiner again, I liked it even worse that he was the villain.
Andrew -- What was he in prison for then? I'll admit I missed the very beginning of this, but he seemed to want to help them escape!

Atoz. Dr Soong was in prison for the theft of 19 augment embryos left over from the eugenics wars. from cold station 12 and raising them until his capture by Star Fleet.

Dr Soong was in prison for stealing the augment embryos. He wanted to keep them safe, but some of the augments had other ideas!

The beginning of the episode, (and there are 3 parts to this one) 2 human augments took a small unarmed transport up to a Klingon bird of prey. They were tractored into the launch bay. After they had been taken out, they killed the whole Klingon crew and dumped their bodies into space. The Klingons were enraged about this! It was Captain Archer's job to take Dr Soong from prison to help find the augments and bring them back to avert a war with the Klingon empire. A pre-Federation Earth could not have withstood such a war because at the time the Klingons were more technologically advanced!
The funny part was when Archer came to the prison to pick up Dr Soong!! Dr Soong said to Captain Archer "Are they going to name the prison after you?" Places were being named after the heros who had stoped the Xindi from destroying Earth!
