That's a pretty impressive list (a few I've never heard of). I like a lot of these, too, but I doubt I could make a list like that. I would probably put "The Day the Earth Stood Still", "Forbidden Planet" and "Planet of the Apes" closer to the top, though.
I couldn't help noticing that number 4 and number 9 are the same. Did you by any chance mean for one of those to be the original?

And where's "The Andromeda Strain"? That was one of my favorites.
Have you seen Robert Ring's blog, at scifiblock.com? He reviews lots of scifi movies, series, graphic novels, and so on. Right now he has a project where he's going through each episode of TOS and TNG (alternating). His is the perspective of a non-Trekkie, so it's interesting to see what he has to say about them.

There was a remake with Benjamin Bratt a few years ago on the A&E channel, but it was horrible. I love the original.

Another example of subjective judgement, I guess. Although I thought "Brazil" had it's moments, overall I found it tedious. When I was watching it, I kept wanting to change the channel.

These are my favourite science-fiction films listed in no particular order.
Cypher (2002) starring Jeremy Northam. Soylent Green (1973) starring Charlton Heston. Logan's Run (1976) starring Michael York. Twelve Monkeys (1995) starring Bruce Willis. Johnny Mnemonic (1995) starring Keanu Reeves. Alien (1979). Predator (1987). The Thing (1982) starring Kurt Russell. Blade Runner (1982) starring Harrison Ford. Cube 2: Hypercube (2002). 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). Gattaca (1997). 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954) starring Kirk Douglas. Outland (1981) starring Sean Connery. The Running Man (1987) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. District 9 (2009). Fortress (1993) starring Christopher Lambert. Moon (2009).
There are others that I like but they simply did not make the list, others I have simply forgotten for now.
Edit:37. Metropolis (1927). 85. Escape from New York. The two I forgot.H+

I know most of these, but one or two aren't familiar. "Moon" -- is that the one about the astronaut alone on a moon base who has an accident, and as he's recovering he starts seeing someone else moving around the base, which turns out to be him?

That is indeed the film. I do not like the all-too-common statement that one should go out of their way to see every film recommended by every random person, but this film is really worth going out of your way to find. The film is visually satisfying, and is topped off with a very appropriate use of music. Not to mention the AI, GERTY, being voiced by Kevin Spacey. Overall, I found the plot to be very original, and the use of models instead of CGI is just wonderful. See this film.H+

I saw about two thirds of it, then an electrical storm came up in my neighborhood and we lost the satellite signal. But I'll look out for it again.

As wonderful as Earth's atmosphere is, it can be a real pest sometimes. Did you enjoy what you saw of the film?

It was interesting, although I wouldn't list it as one of my favorite movies. I do agree that models are MUCH better than CGI in a science fiction movie!
Since you like Kevin Spacey, how about "K-PAX"? That would technically be considered science fiction, wouldn't it?
