I haven't much watched DS9, so I've only seen a few episodes with Ezri, but I adored Jadzia. What did you think of Ezri? Do you think she did a good job taking Jadzia's place?

To be quite honest, I didn't like her character one bit. I would have liked to have seen her come in once maybe twice to keep the Dax alive so to speak. But replacing Jadzia? NOT POSSIBLE I say, they should have just left it alone when she left the show.

Ezri seemed too timid in comparison with Jadzia, though Jadzia was annoying so...

Ezri was always nervous, not very confident in her abilities...especially being a counselor on a space station? Probably not the best job for her. I liked her character because it summed up how the Trill species worked, how when one Trill host dies another takes its place. But replacing Jadzia gave us a whole new character to learn, and she did have some good times, I think

I didn't really know Ezri that well. The only complaint I had with Jadzia is that she wasn't all that convincing as a science officer. I mean, Star Trek often has to invent new technologies, right? When she had to deliver a line about some off-the-wall theory, I got the feeling that she didn't believe it any more than I did. One thing Levar Burton and Brett Spiner never got enough credit for -- when they said something like, "if we inject reverse balonium particles into the maguffin matrix, it should in theory restart the engines..." by goodness they acted like they really believed it!

I missed jadzia, but I also found Ezri to be cute as a button. I really liked Ezri, despite her flaws.

I think the Trill/symbiont relationship is interesting, because the next Trill host has all of the memories of all the previous hosts and in a sense live on through the symbiont. I thought both Jadzia and Ezri were attractive ,but the were not my favorite characters and could have been done better as mentioned in the above posts

I have to disagree about Ezri.
She ruined the Dax character and if I am not much mistaken the simple fact that she came onto DS9 was a violation of the Trill ethical code.
And professionally, I wouldn't believe her for a second, and if I wouldn't believe her, why should star fleet?
But she did have this look like a deer about to be run over, not very attractive.
