Haven't heard anything. But there's a lot of speculation that if the new "Star Trek XI" movie does well, it will generate enough interest that they'll try again.

Atoz. I hope you are right about the new Trek movie "Star Trek XI". I would like to see another trek series and the movie when it comes out!

I am afraid of JJ abrams's film. I'm afraid star trek loses his fashion and ends up like cloverfield (no end, many incomplete particulars)...

Really. I'm not a big fan of "Lost", so I'm worried how he's going to handle a Star Trek movie.

One reason I didn't care for DS9 as much is that I tend to be interested in science. My favorite Star Trek episodes usually revolve around some kind of mystery. DS9 seemed to be more about military and political intrigues with the Cardassians (or even some of the Bajorans).

I have to say that DS9 was my favourite Trek series, and I do miss it a lot. In a way I was quite disappointed with the way the series ended. Not to say that the finale wasn't spectacular anyway but I believe that there were a lot of unresolved issues and plots that could have justified an eighth season at least. Mainly the fact that the series was built around Sisko and the crew helping Bajor enter the Federation and when the series ended they still hadn't joined, as the Dominion war saga completely took over the final two seasons. The novels that S.D. Perry and others have written did a good job of continuing DS9 after the TV series ended but I still think that DS9 could have continued. I think as the years pass by, its looking less likely that we'd ever see any new DS9 on TV or on the big screen, which is a shame.

DS9 seems to be the orphan child of Star Trek series, at least here in the USA. You sometimes see reruns of Next Gen or Voyager or Enterprise (on either the SciFi channel or Spike), but I don't remember the last time I saw a DS9 rerun, unless it was like 3 o'clock in the morning.

I wish there was a star trek channel to. I can never find any DS9 books in stores anymore does any one know where I can find some? I have all the DS9 dvds so I can watch them whenever I want which is really cool. I also have next generation, voyager and all the movies plus the original series. I want to get Enterprise soon too.

I think it might be some time before I can afford to get any of them though I'd possibly start with Voyager or Enterprise. Do I miss DS9? No, because a) I don't remember it being on originally and b) it's on every weekday on Virgin1, channel 20 freeview so I watch it quite frequently...
