Star Trek: Strangers From the Sky--by Marget Warnder Bonanno. It's about the first contact between Man & Vulcan.
Since I found this forum, I've been reading a variety of books on Star Trek. I do like reading books by James Patterson.

Currently I am reading Roleplaying books as PDF file.
I just recently read the entire Harley Quinn saga, she is so cool, she is so much cooler than the joker.

!Star trek voyager gateways book five of seven! Any one else read it? I think I read the second one in that series (I'd have to check). It obviously didn't impress me as a very good story. The whole point seemed to be to bring in as many Star Trek characters as possible.

Star Trek: Strangers From the Sky--by Marget Warnder Bonanno. It's about the first contact between Man & Vulcan. I read another book by M.W. Bonanno -- "Probe". It was attempt to explain where the alien probe which arrived at Earth in "ST IV: The Voyage Home" came from. It was an intriguing idea, but fell just short of being plausible, I thought. But her writing style is good.

Right now I'm reading "Wish You Were Here: The Official Biography of Douglas Adams" by Nick Webb. I found it marked for three dollars, slung into the bargain bin in a shop along with a lot of other books!

I read "The Screwtape Letters" so long ago, I don't even remember what it was about. I've never heard of the others. Are they any good?
The biography I mentioned above turns out to be not so hot. It's nice to learn that many of the secondary characters who popped up in the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy were friends and acquaintances of Douglas Adams (for example, in the original version the very worst poetry in the universe was written by "Paul Neal Milne Johnstone", that is until the real Paul Johnstone, editor of the student newspaper where Adams when to school, wrote the publisher and threatened to sue). But over all, I found out that I Adams was a person I probably wouldn't have liked if I had known him. That's always a dissappointment.

I picked a lot of difficult books to read. The Screwtape Letters was written by CS Lewis and it is written in a way that takes some getting used to...it's the same with his biography. They are both good but it's one of those reads you can't do just to read and be entertained...these books make you think about what you are reading - if that makes sense.
I think I need to balance 'em out with an "easy read". I thought reading "Uncle Tom's Cabin" would help but that's another difficult book to enjoy because of the use of language...it sure has changed since the time this book was written and it takes awhile to read through conversations and such. But I'm already on chapter 9 and going strong.
