A small telescope is better than none.... though the bigger the better and the more you can see!
I got up early this morning before dawn and saw Orion and the other constellations around it Taurus, Canis major...etc.

Stargazing without a telescope can be just as much fun as using one. I agree with you on this one, though you can see more with a telescope. I'm going to try and get up in the very early AM to get a look a Mars which is near Orion and Taurus. I didn't realize this the other morning I saw these constellations. I saw on the Internet that they are calling Mars, Betelgeuse, Aldebaran the red triangle at this time. I have been watching Jupiter each night as it rises earlier and is moving more to due south from the southeast.

I did wake up early this morning without an alarm and went outside and saw the red triangle I mentioned. The triangle was nearly equal on 2 sides in length with mars at the long end with Betelgeuse and Aldebaran at one end closer to each other.
