There's an episode of Enterprise where there's a monastery with lots of ancient Vulcan artifacts, from what I gather there are a few such establishments around on various planets so artifacts could easily come from places such as those.

Yes I agree! The Vulcans valued these artifacts! Some of them were the mummified remains of long dead Vulcan masters! Others such as in STNG ep's "The Gambit" parts one and two, the artifacts when put together made a psychic weapon that would kill people who had aggressive thoughts! These artifacts were 2,000 years old.

The ancient Vulcans did have space travel even before the Vulcan separation where some of them left to form "The Romulan Star Empire".

The movie was set in an alternative time line. Not like TOS. Wish they dident. But at least it was a good movie.

Have a look, very good, pass by... Be honest but not too modest. Dress properly. Don't shake hands with the interviewer until he/she extends his/her hand.A rolling stone gathers no moss. Do the mods realize this member is just spamming in the posts? He/she says, "I agree with Lieutenant" then puts links at the base....interesting.

From what I can gather if Nero hadn't killed the crew of the enterprise with Kirk's dad the time line would have gone on like TOS had done. Kind of like the time machine effect where you can't do anything if you go back in time without causing a change too the future.

Precisely... Spock even explained it, that now it was an 'alternate' timeline.
Of course with there technology, they could easily have reduced the impact of the incident by the 24th century. Cloning is a wonderful thing, and what about project Genesis?
