Hi, I'm wondering if anoyone is still here right now, but anyway I'm going to introduce myself. I'm Hanna and I come form Poland (sorry for my English then - it's not my first language after all). I'm almost 18. Recently I have started to watch Star Trek and I'm big fan now. I 've only watched 2 seasons of The Orginal Series, but I'm going to watch all the series soon! (Or maybe not so soon xD). Why did I register here? You know, Star Trek is not so popular in Poland, so I was hoping that I would be able to talk here and meet many interesing people.

We're glad to have you, Hanna! Yes, this forum has seen better days when it was more active. But there are still one or two of us here. The Original series is my favorite, too. Do you have a favorite character, or a favorite episode you'd like to talk about?

My favorite character is Spock. I love the way he quarelles with McCoy, ther dialouges can sometimes be so funny. And favortie episode? I can't think of one... So maybe "The Trouble With Tribbles ", "Patterns of force", those one with Apollo and those when they had to kill Edith Keeler to change the future... But I may have forgotten about something.

You named some really great episodes. "Who Mourns for Adonais?", the one where they met Apollo, is also one of my favorites. And "Patterns of Force". Have you had the chance to see any of the movies? I personally think the movies weren't as good as the series, even though they had better special effects.

I've seen only "The Motion Picture" yet and I totally agree with you! There were some good scenes, but some of them were too long. In the series the action moves more quickly. But yest, the special effects were impressing, when you think about the time when they had been made.

Spock and McCoy always made things fun. There was the time in I Mudd when Mccoy is complaining to Spock about a new creman named Norman. "Theres' something wrong with a man who never smiles, never talks about himself, whose conversation never varies from the routine of the job..." and then it dawns on him he's also decribing Spock!
You'd probably like The Wrath of Khan, the second movie. It moves more like an episode of the series.

It's a brill film! Welcome to the boards. I'm a fairly recent convert myself so I only just got hold of the TOS DVDs.

I was trying to think of some of the stories she has to look forward to in season three... "The Paradise Syndrome", "The Spectre of the Gun", "The Tholian Web", "All Our Yesterdays"...

Here's another question, Hanna. Which character do you identify most with? If you were on the Enterprise, which one would you be?

Wow, that's a difficult quastion. And honestly I can't think of a character which I can indetify with . All the women on the Enterprise are too boring, they do nothing more than flirting with Kirk/Khan/Apollo ect. Spock is to emotionless - I'm quick - temper... Kirk is too self-confident. And the rest of the crew... Certainly not McCoy. Maybe Scotty, because he likes Enterprise more than people XD. So that's it. (I've just noticed that I had written "Hello form Poland" istead "Hello from Poland" in a topic. What a shame, sorry )

That's all right; we don't count off for typographical mistakes! Kirk too self-confident? There were several early episodes where we saw that he suffers from indecision just like the rest of us; he just hides it well. What I like is that as time goes on, he has more confidence in himself. How about Chekov?

Kind of like what Picard said that one time. A captian sometimes has to act like he knows what he's doing even if he doesn't.
