Atoz...Were you referring to the old or new or both series of the outer limits?... The new series. On some occasions they did manage to tell a good story, but as I say the "typical" episode left a lot to be desired, especially the time travel stories.

Back to the Future, now those films were badass.... oh right, lol yeah i like the time travel episodes but i dont like the idea of star trek having time ships, I really liked The City on the Edge of Forever, thats got to be one of my most watched TOS episodes and I've read the teleplay countless times

I also liked the "back to the future trilogy" and "The city on the edge of forever". I like time travel stories in general! Does anyone here like the HG Wells "The Time machine?

Yeah true it could have been better. I read an early treatment for City on the Edge of Forever and I think Harlan Ellison had a better story for the episode has anyone else read the early script???

No I haven't read or even heard of an earlier script for "City on the edge of forever". What do you think was better about it? How is it different?

That talks about it, there was a sub-plot of a character on the Enterprise dealing drugs, Kirk finds out so the character panics and goes down onto the Guardian's planet so Kirk & Co go down to the planet to capture him, they also changed Edith Keelers character a bit, she was a social worker but she wasnt a war-protester like in the final draft but she didnt agree with war. There were smaller changes as well. Theres an article about it on wikipedia and there is a book by Harlan Ellison about the whole thing, thats where I read the treatment and the original script.

What I can't fathom is how Ellison ever dreamed Roddenberry would have included a character who was a drug dealer on his starship! I mean, that seems like a reasonable change to make. I don't understand why he got so bent out of shape. But then, I guess I'd have to read his book to find out.

The best time travel paradox story I know is the Doctor Who episode "Blink". I can't even describe it. If you've never seen it, you'll have to take my word for it. It's Brilliant!
