Let me tell you, i have always just used a free website to host pictures. I have never made any photobucket account or anything like it. Check this page out tutorials.photobucket.com. It's from the official photobucket site, so it should be helpful.

I think I've got it sorted out, but the picture doesn't look so good. There are gaps in the white outline which I know are not there in the original picture (I redrew it enough times, I should know). What's up?
[That's not what I look like, by the way. That's my cat, Shiva, in a Starfleet uniform.]

Yeah, i don't know what's up with that. In any case, i think it still looks fine with the white lines. It simply looks like an outline.

... well when you remake it it's best to save it as a bmp and jpeg, because it is transferred into jpeg when you upload to photobucket, like my avatar, I made sure i made it exactly 100x100 and tested it a few times b4 i got it right.

I expanded the picture 150%, then cut it down to just a waist-up. Is that better?

I want the white outline, to make it stand out from the background better. The complaint I had before was that there were gaps in the outline.

Okay, you were right. I still think the smaller picture looks better with the outline, but the larger one doesn't need it.

Atoz 77 If You dont know how to use youre photobucket account?? Ok you can bookmark it as you go to the "My Account" area as you can then bookmark it on youre PC. As for making it a link got to youre account here, and you'll see a link area that you can put youre photobucket page into. save it and then you have a link that others can use or you can reference back to youre account. I may not be from earth, but I've learned a few things here!

A little trick for Avatars:
As the pictures used are automatically resized to 65x65, if the dimensions isn't between 100x100, you can use this in your fit of laziness, take the picture you want for avatar link to it, but then crap your calculator, figure out how much the smallest dimension have to be set to, if the largest dimension is 100, and simple enter those numbers in the Avatar size fields, and presto, you have a perfectly sized avatar, and you don't have to manipulate it will any graphics program, or upload more than one, even if you need a big size image.
Example: an image is 466 x 312, so I need to resize it, so the 466 becomes 100, which is easily done, but what does the 312 become, so the dimension still match? Well, ((100/466)x312) gives the result; 66, so the avatar dimensions are 100 x 66.
You can see what I mean, if you press 'Show Picture' on my avatar. Try to compare it with others.
But on another matter, I cringe when the signature is larger than the post, so I suggest putting a limit on signature size. how about it?

Hmmm Mac That Was Intresting, I see How You Calculated Those Figures. I Think Everyones Signature Is Thier Own, As For Size Most Know The Limit Reasonably, As I Think It Takes More Responsibility To Have The Control Of Each Individual On Thier Own.
