To be honest I very rarely watch any other sci-fi. It either isn't there or I'm not interested.

Having a thread/section for all sci-fi would be a good idea! I'm also a "Star-Gate fan!!!

I think it would be excellent to do that. It would bring different crowds to the forum because of the diverse subjects. Not only Star Trek which is interesting in its own.

To be honest I very rarely watch any other sci-fi. It either isn't there or I'm not interested. I have often noticed that interest in Star Trek doesn't necessarly mean interest in science fiction in general. The two are pretty independent.

I agree. I have a hard time getting into Sci-Fi. My friends have tried to get me to watch Firefly...It was good, but I couldn't get hooked. There are other shows and books even. I just...well, I guess there has to be an element in it that appeals to me (in anything I get into) and then I'm a goner.

I am all for the idea of this board expanding to include discussion about science-fiction in general, so long as the discussion of science-fiction that is unrelated to Star Trek, is discussed on its own board. However, The Holodeck already seems to accomplish that end. In the end, though, a board for the discussion of strictly science-fiction would be lovely. My justification for this, is that Star Trek addresses many of the questions of science-fiction and classic science-fiction alike.
