Hello,
I have just watched the TNG episode 'A Fistful of Datas'.
As Worf & Alexander walk into the saloon for the 1st time, some jolly saloon music is being played. As I can play the piano, I was wondering what the tune is called, and where could I get it from?
Regards, Daniel

Gosh, that's one of my least favorite episodes, and I don't even remember the music. Can you hum it?

I didn't think the episode was THAT bad. It's a bit silly but quite funny, such as when Troi shoots Eli's hat off... ;D

Now that I've had time to put on my deerstalker cap, I might be able to narrow it down without even hearing the music. If it was a Western saloon, chances are pretty good it was either the "Emperor Waltz" or the "Blue Danube Waltz", by Johann Strauss Jr.
Strauss was The Megastar of the 1870s and 80s. When he gave a concert, the ticket booth would literally be mobbed. Riots were known to break out when they ran out of tickets. I don't know if he ever came to America, but his music was heard all over the world.

Most of the trek music seems dramatic to me. It does do a good job to set the mood of the show and the particular scene at the time.

I particularly like that quiet, pastoral theme they used to play on the Original Series.

I also like the music in the original series. The next generation music was overly dramatic in my opinion. I liked the opening song for Enterprise the best out of all the trek music.

I would look up the following 2 names, as they had songs that played on the Fistful of Datas. The two names I would suggest would have to be Sergio Leone (A Fistful of Dollars) and Ennio Morricone (The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly). Sorry I could not be of more help.
