This was the episode where Archer attacked a ship of peaceful explorers in order to get their warp coil, because his own had been damaged in battle with the Xindi. We also discover in this episode that T'Pol has become addicted to kellicite.

I remember that this was a very difficult decision for Captain Archer to make to take the warp coil. I know if the situation wasn't so desperate, he would not have done it!!! Archer did leave food and supplies for the crew of that alien vessel to sustain them until they could get home under impulse power. I would like to think that Captain Archer or another Star Fleet ship came back to give them back their warp coil after the Xindi weapon was destroyed!!!

I would like to think so too, but as we saw, Enterprise ended up in some kind of alternate timeline, apparently in the middle of World War II! I still can't figure out how that happened! But this brings up another problem I've noticed with "Enterprise" -- even if we assume all alien races come up with basically the same kind of warp drive, wouldn't the engineering be incompatible from one to another? I mean, to take an example from automobile manufacturers, even different model cars made by the same company don't necessarily have interchangeable parts!

Atoz I was wondering about the same things of the alien warp core fitting right in. It did seem a bit too convenient. Enterprise was sent back to an alternate time line in the WWII era by Daniels to stop the aliens there from altering history. It was part of the Temporal cold war of the 31st century.

Thanks for the explanation. A couple of episodes were shown out of sequence for some reason, but I've seen the rest of the story now.

Well, the SciFi channel is showing them again on weekdays at five (at least on the east coast). They occasionally get one out of sequence.

I didn't like this episode because I thought the situation looked too contrived. How many times in the past have we seen Starfleet officers pull off amazing repair jobs at the last minute? Or get around the problem by temporarily converting some other piece of equipment?
It wasn't even all that vital. They just needed to rendezvous with the Arboreal/Primate faction of the Xindi. They weren't in any shape for a battle, so when they attacked the Reptile/Insectoid faction in the next episode, it was only after the ship had been repaired by the Aquatics anyway, wasn't it?
Plus -- somebody just pointed out to me that it was trellium D T'Pol was addicted to, not kellicite.

I agree with you Atoz! There are a lot of situations where things seem to miraculously fit right in at the last minute. It does make for an exciting story, but lacks a sense of realism when they do this.
