Greetings and Sulutations!
I'm a fresh cadet here, but I have an issue that's been driving me Amok. It has to do with the episode "Shore Leave".
I could swear I remember a scene where Finnegan is dancing with fisticuffs at the ready saying "Fight me, Jimmy! Fight me!" because I grew up saying that for play, and this is before Mike Myers described it in a Wayne's World skit. I just watched the episode on Netflix, and those are supposed to be the remastered, unedited shows, and HE NEVER SAYS IT. Never says anything close to it. Do we all have collective re-imagination, or are the remastered episodes indeed edited?
Ten thousand kwatloos for your help, Ta'lifi!

Good question, Talifi! Finnegan might not have used that exact phrase, because after all Kirk didn't need a lot of encouragement. I do remember him saying, "Go on, lay one on me. Because that's what you've always wanted." I'll also check my DVD version.

When he was luring Kirk away from the glade and he was on top of that big rock he said "Find me! You never could find your head with both hands." Thats the closest thing i could see.

I can confirm what Luke said. Finnegan didn't say, "Fight me" -- he said "Find me."
But you know, cryptoamnesia is an interested phenomenon in itself. I used to read James Blish's adaptations over and over, and as you know, he often added bits of dialogue or even entire scenes that weren't in the episode as it was shown. Because my imagination was so vivid, I often got confused about whether I'd seen the scene or just read it.

I do not know. I would have to see the remastered series to know for sure. I agree with Lucius and Atoz on what Finnigrin said though on the original, but that is about all.

But "Shore Leave" was a very fun episode, one of the best. Interestly so, since according to various versions I've read, it was pretty much re-written "on the fly", while they were filming it!
Question: do you think it's possible that the Caretaker was a Q?
