I'm watching this episode now and have seen it several times before. It's not my favorite, but I still like it!
A freighter named "The Fortunate" is attacked by Naussican pirates. The captain is injured badly, leaving the first officer in charge. He captured a Naussican and is trying to get their shield frequencies from him. When Archer finds out he isn't happy!!! I understand both sides of this issue.
More soon.......

After the Captain of the Fortunate gets better he demotes Ryan, the first officer for causing his ship to be attacked by the Naussicans until Enterprise rescues them. At the end The Fortunate' captain talks with Captain Archer about getting some upgrades like a warp 3 engine which would be much faster than warp 1.8, the speed of the typical freighter. Ensign Mayweather said it would reduce a 5 year journey to 6 months. That's quite an increase in speed!!

Yes ! Ten times faster! The old warp scale. The one used in TOS and Enterprise the warp factor is a cube of the number of the warp factor such as warp 2 is 2times 2 times 2 which equals 8 Warp 1.8 would be 5.823 if 1.8 is cubed. This number times ten.... 58.23 which is nearly warp 4 under the old warp system. warp 3 is 27c and warp 4 is 64c. C, representing the speed of light. The new warp system is extremely complicated and I don't like it!!! they should have left this one alone!!!!!

That's good news!
Back to the Fortunate.
It's crew 23. Its tactical systems were far inferior to Enterprise's The Fortunate would have been destroyed if it had not been rescued from the Naussican pirates who were no match for Enterprise! I wished they would have shown the ships more during the battle!!
