I'm positive that McCoy utters something along the lines of "Never underestimate the body's natural ability to heal itself" at some point in the original series, but I can't find the exact episode!
Does anyone remember which it was?
Thanks in advance!

Gosh, I'm going to need a little more context. Can you visualize the scene? What was going on? That does sound like something McCoy might say, but I can't recall those exact words. In "A Private Little War", he talks about the ability of Vulcans to heal themselves. Is that close enough?

I agree with the admiral. I don't remember him saying those words. But I do remembeer A Private Little War, where Spock is injured by a musket and had to heal himself.

Hmmm, that does sound familiar to me but I have no idea if it was McCoy who said it or in what episode. I'm horrible when it comes to things like that but it does ring a bell...

I agree with the admiral. I don't remember him saying those words. But I do remember A Private Little War, where Spock is injured by a musket and had to heal himself. This defiantly the right episode. I don't remember the quote from McCoy, but there was another doctor there who knew a lot about Vulcan physiology. Spock made Nurse Chapel slap him to help bring him out off that deep state of self healing. It's been so long since I have seen this episode, I don't remember everything!
