Of the record if you've come here and are curious what on earth is going on, were trying out a new idea if you'll go and take a look in the Counsellors office thread, i was hoping that somone might come to the Counsellors office and say they had a bit of a problem and the counsellor would say lets go and have a chat and open a thread providing they agree. Im having tremendous trouble sleeping, and this is odd mainly due to the fact im getting woken up at 10 to 11, and going to sleep at 4-5 and on the odd occasion just not going to sleep, its not medical, i just dont want to go to sleep, i tend to try for a while and become hyper-active and get up while everyone else is sleeping

Do you feel rested or tired? If you feel tired is it physical or mental or both? You said you did not want to sleep. What is your mood like ? Stable or erratic?

Do you feel like this all the time? How long has this been going on?
If there is no medical or psychological reason for this happening it could be the norm for you. Have you sought medical advice/attention for this?
I have had insomnia before, but not the way you are describing it.

Be aware im an adolescent and that brings certain side effects on occasion, about 2 weeks ago or possibly 1 and a half i didnt go to sleep and thought i'd stay awake, and then the next night i went to sleep at said times and ever since my sleep pattern has been short and erratic, not only that but on occasion i have left the house early in the morning and gone for walks, but things seemed differant, almost like my higher brain functions had switched off, i drifted around the local pool for a while like i was in dream almost, as soon as i got home and got back to the laptop i began to return to normal and after a little while people began waking up and i had a normal day

Apollo. Were you sleeping normally before this all started or has it always been something like this? Has your family said anything to you about your behavior/sleeping patterns or anything else out of the ordinary??

Im by nature hyper-active, however im never really told to be acting strangely, im strongly against emotional outbursts of anger and depression though, and i slept reasonably normally before this, however its only 2am and by the grace of god i actually feeling tired, im going to try to sleep and i'll speak to you in the morning, unless i cant sleep.

Apollo are you sure you want to continue to make posts with this much personal information? I don't mind trying to help you or directing you to the right people to help you! I would be very reluctant to myself! It does seem like you go through some major cycles in your mood and sleeping patterns. What about your eating patterns?

I couldnt sleep, so i watched an episode of Star Trek, i tend to eat out of boredom however i do not significantly increase in weight, and im comfortable talking about myself, it may allow people to understand the things i say and the emotions behind them better, and of course im sure you find this fascinating

It does sound interesting. We do have some differences. boredom has gotten me into a lot of trouble before, but has never caused me to eat!
