After first watching Star Trek TNG, did your opinions of characters change over time? Like I really liked Picard, Troi, Worf and Data straight away, but at first I didn't like Riker at first that much because I thought he was with women too much but eventually I grew to like him a lot especially after " Ménage à Troi" I found him really nice in that episode.. and since I like him a lot.. But I still really dislike the Krushers, I find them both really bland and somewhat unpleasant personality.. Did your first impressions of characters stay, or did they change over time?

I agree with you about Picard, Worf, and, Data as they were my top 3 in STNG. I didn't like Wesley Crusher much until the last few episodes he was in. The other characters were OK...They had their good moments and times of mediocrity!

I've got to admit to not having seen enough of TNG to really answer this - I became familiar with the later seasons before I ever saw any of the early ones so...

I grew up on TOS, so when I first saw TNG, I disliked it on sight! I remember watching "Encounter at Farpoint" for the first time and picking out all the things I didn't like about it. But... the thing I couldn't find fault with was Data and Riker. They just went so well together!
In fact, the entire first season struck me as basic action/adventure, and not what I thought of as science fiction at all. It wasn't until the second season the stories got better and I started really liking the characters.

I know I have a poll somewhere around here where you vote for Pulaski or Crusher as your favorite doctor. Needless to say, Beverly is far in the lead.

Nope, so far I like them the same as when I first watched them...but then again, I only started watching TNG a few years back. Like Atoz, I'm an original fan and wasn't to keen on the new series but after watching a few seasons I found myself enjoying them. Although the original will always be my favorite.

Lol definitely i preferred her though she was sort of stern but I got used to her.

Also, I'm sort of starting to like Troi less. At first I just found her really pretty and I loved her hair and I thought she was smart, but like the advice she gave to Worf and Alexander with the contract for responsibilities was just so unoriginal. I do not like typical counselor approaches. Also I still don't know how I feel about LaForge, because at first I definitely liked him due to his cheerfulness, but since he's engineer - technology I sort of tune out in his storyline because I'm just not a technical person and also he seems too cheerful, all the time.

I agree with you about Troi. At first, she seemed like an all-purpose advisor to the captain, full of information. But later on, she settled into her role as ship's counselor and, at least to me, she seemed annoyingly perfect all the time.

For me, I actually loved all the characters from the start. XD The only character I changed my mind about was Dr. Pulaski. At first, I absolutely hated her, but by the end of the season, when she was leaving, I wanted her to stay and I even admired her. She's very tough and a good doctor. That stubbornness she had worked against her character in the beginning of the season, but turned into a strength later on.

some reason with Dr. Pulaski is that it seemed that she didn't fit well into the part on that specific ship. It always looked like she was so distant towards everyone else. Sure she was a good doctor, but she didn't have that flare that Dr. Crusher had.

I'm glad someone else besides me liked Dr. Pulaski. I have a poll somewhere around here, where you chose between her and Crusher, and I really can't understand why most people seem to dislike her so much.
And it was clear from the beginning that she wasn't expected to stay, because her name was never listed in the opening credits. She was a "special guest star".
