I for one am glad that Apple survived well into the future to install it's newest iBridge on every Federation vessel. Perhaps this will also occur for every civilian home when the iHome is released. Take that Nokia!

Oh, I suspect that Katara was just referring to the upscaling of the bridge, as compared with all bridges from all other star ships. The thing is, it's all dated, no matter how you look at it. In the 60s, you had a bridge that reflected the decorating trends of that erra. In the mid-80s, you had a bridge that looked more like something you'd find in a "professional office" (and crew appearances to go with it). In the 90s, you had bridges that were kind of the same but a tad more tech and the crews reflected the social politics of the 90s as well... It's only fitting to give a more recently designed bridge a more recent look. Besides, it's a tad more realistic, if you think about it. I mean, I have a hard time imagining that 200 to 400 years from now, star ships will be flying around with bridges that look like they're smack-dab from the 1960s. What would rock would be if they created a new "TOS" series from the alternate reality created in the Star Trek movie...

I bet you're in a minority with that one love!
But you're right, TOS looks dated to me (it doesn't get in the way of it being a brilliant show). The nuTrek look is...well, I find it rather exciting in a way.
