I'm not thinking of the ordinary fights he got into all the time. I 'm thinking of the times he was mano-a-mano against one worthy oponent.

Another tough one. But I'm voting for the fight with Rojan in the rec room, just because I liked him. They were rolling across tables and scattering games all over the place. And when Spock and McCoy walked in on them, Kirk explained, "I'm stimulating him, I'm stimulating him!"

I had to vote for Finnegan! That was a knock-down-drag-out if there ever was one!

Oh yes! And that reminds me -- how many times did Kirk get his shirt ripped off during a fight?

Actualy that fight with Finnegan is the only time I can think of right offhand.

Right. I can remember a few times gashes were torn in his shirt by various weapons, but that was the only time I can recall that his shirt was literally torn off. Another Star Trek myth bites the dust!
Another trivia question -- can you name either of the two episodes where we got to see Spock's hairy bare chest?

I know at least one, but I'm going to be nice and give someone else a chance.

Looks like you and I are the only two TOS fans around here. Never mind, then.
I just remembered another one I should have put in the poll. The fight with Khan.

That was another fairly good fight, but not great. Id probably put it fourth on my list, after Finnegan, Spock (in Amok Time) and Captain Tracey.

Kirk's fight with Khan was over too quickly, which is why it wouldn't get my vote. Otherwise, it was pretty good. The combat in "Amok Time" would probably be my second choice. They actually fought three times, if you count "Mirror, Mirror".

Then there was Kirk's fight with his own double (really Fleet Captain Garth of Izar). That one wasn't bad.

Yes, that was a good one, but Garth must not have been as good a fighter as Kirk. Remember he had to resort to using a chair at the end!

The good old equalizer. But you remember Ron Tracy? He whipped Kirk twice, so he must have stronger and faster. That's why I put him in theoriginal poll.
