Hello to all! I'm Meiline and I confess that I was very happy to find this forum! I'm a big fan of the original series and felt the need to exchange ideas with other fans as well. I hope to become very active, sharing ideas and thoughts. See you soon!

Great, Meiline! Things have been so dull around here. I don't suppose I have to ask who your fav character is.

Welcome, Meiline! Here's a standard question I sometimes ask new members. What's your service branch? Engineering, Ops, Sciences, Medical?

Ah, Science Officers! We can never have enough Science Officers! Do you specialize in astrophysics or exobiology?

Oh, very good! Studying subspace vortexes, singularities, wormholes and the like eh? I lean more towards exobiology myself, but that stuff is fascinating too. Did you guys ever figure out the subspace conduits that the Borg were using? It would be great to be able to dash back and forth between quadrants the same way we dash between sectors today.

Not yet great minds are on it but you will know when we do I'm sure I will. What particular branch of astrophysics are you working on now: stars, nebulae, exotic bodies like wormholes? I have two main reasons for asking this question. The first one is I'm trying to get you to talk about yourself. The second is that I'm fishing for story ideas! If you look down at the Fan Fiction section, you'll see a couple of dozen stories I've posted over the years, and frankly I'm running out of ideas.

Both of those are always fascinating to observe. New stars igniting because it's almost like watching a baby being born, full of promise (although several million years down the line). A nova explosion because planets wouldn't be possible without all the heavy atoms that they create. If anything out of the ordinary happens, be sure and tell us.

Hello everyone,
I'm Bill Smith and I live in the Seattle area. I'm very happy to find this forum. Big fan of TOS since I watched the original network broadcasts when I was 10 years old. I'm putting together a Kirk uniform on a mannequin for display. Just waiting for all of the various pieces to arrive. Already have a William Shatner mask, eyes to put in the mask, a phaser, a communicator and some awesome boots (I'll be posting about the boots on a different thread). I'm waiting for a wig and the velour uniform shirt and the pants to arrive. At that point, I'll order the mannequin and put everything together.
Looking forward to sharing ideas!

Gosh, you must be about as old as I am. I didn't watch the original broadcasts, but I fell in love with it during the first wave of reruns in the 70s (I was in high school by that time).
This sounds like an interesting project of yours. I assume you're talking about the standard gold uniform? The green one was pretty nice, too. Let us know how it turns out.
