Orbital skydiving -- that sounds like fun. Rhondajo used to do that, didn't she?

I think the holo-deck food can be made real or holographic. "mentioned above" I think the idea of a food fight in the holideck is really funny, but unless you want to clean the mess up, I recommend using only holographic food

To be honest, I'm not sure how holographic things work. Are they made from real particles. Like is the chicken really chicken?

why not eat holographic food if it fills you up, but once you leave the holodeck, you will probably be hungry again. I think this could work if you over eat holographic food in an all you can eat buffet program and are uncomfortable, all you have to do is leave the holodeck.

That's really what the debate is about. Holographic food might have texture and feel, but I don't see how it would have any nutritional value, since it's not made of anything. In that case, it would much simpler to just have the Replicator make the food and beam it into the holodeck for you to eat.

That would be awesome if it could!

Still just trying to clarify what I'm talking about -- Say you're watching a movie, and the scene is at a restaurant or a banquet. Chances are, all that food you see is just props, molded out of plastic. They can shoot the same scene 20 times if they need to and not worry about it spoiling or wilting. If the script calls for a food fight, they still don't need real food, just something that looks like food. There's no point in spending hours preparing a perfect souffle if the main character is just going to end up wearing it. If the script calls for a character to actually eat something, however, it better be real food.
I imagine the holodeck works the same way. It knows the story you're playing. If the food is just part of the background, it can just be holograms, if it's going to be touched, it has to have texture, if it's going to be actually eaten, it needs to have nutritional value. Of course, the interactive aspect of a holodeck is where it gets complicated -- the possibility that you're going to change the story.

Eh, I really don't think it needs to have nutritional value. Any reason why you think it needs to?

I probably should have re-read the whole thread before replying, but I'll go off of the last few posts. Hopefully I won't contradict something I said on the first page, lol.
Are there any instances where we see people eating something in the holodeck? I can't remember off the top of my head. If not, we may be able to assume nothing is edible. But I do think that with the level of technology they possess, it may be possible that the holodeck can also act as a replicator, where all of the food is actually real.

Eh, I really don't think it needs to have nutritional value. Any reason why you think it needs to? Good point, sir. I only meant that it won't poison you. I suppose all holodeck food could be molded out of whipped cream or gelatin and just colored to look like whatever it's supposed to be.

Fascinating You Should Mention This, As On Torra We Do Replicate Food, But It's Nutritional Values Are No Different Than The Same Food Prepared, Nor Does It Have A Replicated Taste!

I wonder how well that how that "perfect replicator" would work if I used a .357 magnum on it >:-)

Ahhh Yes An Earth Projectile Weapon! Fascinating! Well Our Replicators Are Not Able To Be Penetrated By Such As Our Materials Look Like Plastic But The Material Is Called (Travvium) As It Can Reflect The Energy Of Anything Thrown At Them, Even A 155 Grain .357 Caliber Bullet At About 1250 FPS (Feet Per Second) With A Little Over 735.331 Ft Pounds Pounds Of Energy, Would Have No Affect, Infact The Bullet Would Be Deflected Back In The Same Direction It Was Fired. That Could Be Harmful To Any Human That Fired It!
