I want to clarify something here, in case there's any confusion. Minkajane originally posted this thread back in December telling us that SHE was having a Star Trek wedding at the "Star Trek Experience" in Las Vegas. Presumably they have already done so (and forgot to send us an invitation!).
I bumped the thread so that Doc Piano could see it, but SHE is having a Celtic Wedding. And in reference to that, I know what you mean, Doc. I had to let my membership in the SCA lapse because it got too expensive.

Thanks for bumping this thread. ;-) Since my Fiance and I are both Trekkies, we briefly considered a more Star Trek-themed wedding. He even *almost* convinced me to let him and all the guys wear the white-dress uniforms. I said yes for about a day, but our wedding is taking more of a Celtic-theme after all so I think we'll do a Star Trek theme for a vow-renewal service on a major Anniversary (you know 25 or 50) By the way, where are you getting it? We looked all over online but couldn't find any - or patterns either. We want to make some to wear to the traveling convention when it hits our area (its definitely our favorite uniform, hands down). Once my Beloved and I tie the knot, I'll tell you how we're using "Blue Skies" - for now, its a secret. ;-) So I was puttering around on my computer (in my limited time) and remembered this thread (yay!) My husband and I got married in January ( ) and we did, indeed use Blue Skies. Y'all know the Blue Skies/Enterprise theme at the end of Nemesis? I walked down the aisle to it (you know, instead of Here Comes the Bride?). Big surprise! People in our lives know we're Trekkies, but no one saw that one coming! It was great. We had the Blue Skies part play (you know, soft, instrumental version of it - it lasts for ~20 seconds or so), letting it build up suspense, with the back doors of the church closed. Oh, and I had flower girls bourreeing (my ballet-minded sis would kill me for butchering that spelling... but it's the little ballerina tiptoe walk thing) into place. Then, as the Enterprise theme (the one that plays in every movie the first time we see the Enterprise since Star Trek The Motion Picture) started, with its gradual build, the flower girls tossed up handfuls of flower petals. It was so cool Anyway, thought you guys might be interested since I had mentioned it

Normally seeing and hearing about someone's wedding with pictures and stories is just an awful, boring experience. But I've got to say that I hope you eventually get back on here and post some pix!
