My boyfriend and I just got engaged. ;D We've decided to get married at the Star Trek Experience in Las Vegas. He's going to wear that white jacket Picard wore to the wedding in Nemesis.
If anybody has any tips to make our wedding extra Trekkie, they'd be appreciated. I wanted my maid of honor to wear the TNG uniform dress, but I can't find one online. Anybody seen one?

Congratulations! From what I've heard of the Star Trek Experience, you won't need anything else. Maybe have the flower girl drop tribbles down the aisle instead of rose petals?

Oh how cool and Star Trek Wedding, have no idea as to where you can get the TNG Uniform dress from but would it not be possible to find a dress maker and have one made specially??

The first dance at the reception has to be "Blue Skies"! Or if you know any musicians, you could try to get them to perform that song that Uhura did in "The Conscience of the King", you know -- "The skies are green and glowing Where my heart is... Where my heart is..." I've always thought that was a beautiful song.
Of course you know that now we expect an invitation to the wedding! (At least post a facsimile here once you've settled on a date.) Even if we can't get shore leave, we'll be there in spirit. We'll throw you a party here on Starbase 911.

I don't think they'll send to the states. The dress isn't a big enough deal to get special made. If we can't find it, she'll just wear something pretty. My fiance and I are thinking about what to put on the invitations. We're going to have the stardate and the Earth date listed, plus the location will be "The Federation Starship Enterprise, NCC-1701 D." It's going to be great! I'll definitely scan it and post it here once we've got one done (we're doing the invites ourselves). Unfortunately, we can't really afford a reception, so we're just going to Quark's afterwards for dinner (small group anyway). If there's a band with requests, I'll definitely request that song! BTW, we've decided to have everybody throw Tribbles as we kiss instead of rice or confetti (there being no aisle for them to be dropped on). We're having trouble finding them, but I'm sure we'll be able to. Then everyone can keep them as favors.

Great! Tell Quark to give you the good holosuite (not that cheap "moonlit beach" simulation that doesn't even look like water), or I'll be down there to have a talk with him!

Thanks for bumping this thread. ;-) Since my Fiance and I are both Trekkies, we briefly considered a more Star Trek-themed wedding. He even *almost* convinced me to let him and all the guys wear the white-dress uniforms. I said yes for about a day, but our wedding is taking more of a Celtic-theme after all so I think we'll do a Star Trek theme for a vow-renewal service on a major Anniversary (you know 25 or 50)
By the way, where are you getting it? We looked all over online but couldn't find any - or patterns either. We want to make some to wear to the traveling convention when it hits our area (its definitely our favorite uniform, hands down).
Once my Beloved and I tie the knot, I'll tell you how we're using "Blue Skies" - for now, its a secret. ;-)

lol... oh I wish. I will eventually. But currently being in Medical School makes finding the time and money for SCA difficult...
One day I will be though... hehehe
