I didn't particularly like the Atlantis spinoff, either. Which movie are you talking about, by the way -- the Atlantis pilot episode or "The Ark of Truth"?

Last night I watched and recorded Star Gate "The Ark of Truth". I really enjoyed this one!! They did make a reference to a sneak peek of the up coming "Stargate Universe".

The only hint I've seen so far is, "The mission is survival," or something like that. One suggestion I've heard is that a mission team ends up in one of those alternate universes where the Goa'uld are still in power.

Did anyone see the movie "Stargate: Continuum" Friday night on the SciFi channel? It was a time travel story, a pretty good one too, but I was a little disappointed because the loose threads weren't all tied up. We ended up with an "extra" Cameron Mitchel (if you see what I mean) -- the one who went back to 1929 to rescue his own grandfather and of course ended up stranded there with no way back. But where did he come from? He's basically "our" Cameron Mitchel, but he can't be because "our" Cameron Mitchel was in the locker room with the others at the end of the episode, about to go on another mission!

Atoz. I watched and recorded "Star Gate Continuum" I also thought it was good!!! As far as Col. Mitchell is concerned...its one of those time travel paradoxes that give most other people headaches trying to understand them.....myself excluded!! Remember they were protected from the time-line shift caused by Baal going back into the past because they were in the wormhole between Stargate's and were protected from being changed/erased. Because of this they were able to enter the other reality as they were from the original reality.

Remember they were protected from the time-line shift caused by Baal going back into the past because they were in the wormhole between Stargate's... And that's a pretty lame explanation, actually. Travel through the Stargate is for all practical purposes instantaneous. When the timeline was altered, people began to disappear one at a time over a period of... I don't know a few minutes. Are you telling me the .6 microseconds they spent in the wormhole just happened to coincide with the finale of the time change? Pull the other one! But as I say, it was a pretty entertaining movie for all that. I liked the "Ark of Truth" better, though.

Atoz. I would say since that the SG1 team began to vanish one at a time, that when the remaining members made it to the Stargate and went through before they could vanish. This is why they were protected from being erased/altered. It may not be the best explanation, but I would hardly call it lame! It is questionable why they did not all vanish at the same time the instant Baal went back in time and altered the time-line.
