Star Trek did tons of alien developing. Languages, histories, mythologies, ect. In your opinion, what species do you think was developed most? (Besides humans, of course. As most of us here are one. ;D) Personally, I think Klingons were the most developed species. They made appearences in every series, and even managed to find a way to explain why the TOS Klingons didn't have foreheard ridges. Heck, there's even a Klingon dictionary! I'm just wondering how many people agree with me.

It has been stated several times in Star Trek that one species may be more developed in one area and not in another compared to other species!

I don't think Sammerio is talking about technological developement, but about how well the producers of the various series develope the species. That is, how often does the species appear, and how much detail about that culture do we learn by watching the episodes?
I think it's a toss up between the Klingons and Vulcans. But I can't say for sure because I have to admit that I tend to ignore a lot of what I see about Klingons because I don't like them very much. I like Vulcans much better.

I was thinking more technology , but did have the other things in mind as far as how much a race was advanced or evolved.

Klingons. I also think Bajorans, Romulans and Cardassians.

Klingons probably got the most exposure and development. However, the Founders, Bajorans, and Cardassians did as well. But they had the benefit of being on a show where the heroes did not warp away in a starship.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't The Sheliak a highly developed race, even though they only made one appearance in Star Trek?

I liked the Sheliak, but they were only vaguely hinted at. We never even got a good look at them (although they reminded me of the Excalbians from "The Savage Curtain"). I interpretted Samm's question as which species we learn most about, as far as their culture is concerned. But hey, feel free to interpret the question as you like, if it makes for a good conversation.

I'm not sure if the Q's count in this. As for the less powerful species I would say the Klingons have come a long way through the series. They went from a warring race too a more tolerant people.

If the question is about "In which race authors invested the most time and labour" I'd say Klingons. Is is possible to make dictionary English-Klingon from all the episodes about them.
As for most technologicaly developed races that appear more then once in show I'd say it's Borg.
Social developement- I'd say Humans, who had build a "paradise" on Earth, but since it is silly to believe that in mere 200 years humans will make a perfect society I will not vote on this one.
As for best self-developed race there are of course Vulcans, who's mind is perfectly disciplined, who's techniques of controlling themselves led them to telepathic abilities up to ability to complete mind transfering.
