I was reading Stephen King's novel "It", and there is a character who stutters, so his mother taught him the tongue twister:
"He thrusts his fist against the post and still insists he sees the ghost."
Does anybody know some good tongue twisters?

I used to know some a long time ago , but can only remember bits and pieces of them......maybe a web search would yield some good results?

There's the old chestnuts:
She sells seashells on the sea shore
and
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked; If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?
And the old "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck?": How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? He would chuck, he would, as much wood as he could, and chuck as much wood as a woodchuck would chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
Edit: How could I forget that one I teacher got us doing in choir every week? Red lorry, yellow lorry, red lorry, yellow lorry...very quickly it becomes "red lolly, lellow lolly" or something akin.

That sounds similar to an American one -- "Rubber baby buggy bumper."
"What noise annoys a noisy oyster? A noisy noise annoys a noisy oyster."

I love tongue twisters that flow like that noisy oyster one.
I just said the rubber baby one and given the slip I just made I'm not repeating it around the children! (Hint: involves "buggy" and "bumper"!)

That's really interesting. If you're thinking of the same word I am, that word is not considered naughty here in America.

I think it's considered quite mild (well, in this area at least!) but still a tad rude.

I found out the hard way (on another forum), by repeating a joke from a Terry Pratchett novel which contained the word. I thought it was an innocuous but funny word, until one of the Brits on the forum informed me that it was rude! Here's another that could get you into trouble if you said it wrong: "Six thick sticks between six thin sticks."
