My favorite is Voyage home. I think it had some of the best lines and the plot about the whales was very good. What is your favorite? ;D

I know I may be flamed or made a pariah (or patahk, as the case may be), but my favorite movie is Star Trek: Generations. Not only because it was the first movie to feature The Next Generation crew, but I thought Soren was an interesting character (played well by Malcolm McDowell). It was also the first Star Trek movie I saw in theaters (and I've seen each subsequent one in theaters). I thought the humor was great (though of course, Star Trek IV still remains the best in the humor department), and I did love how Kirk and Picard had to work together at the end to take care of Soren. A little disappointed that he really didn't die alone as he "knew" he would (he died with Picard there). But I thought it was an all-around great film.
Oops, just realize you said TOS movie. Does this count, because it still has Kirk, Chekov, and Scotty in it?
If not, then my favorite true TOS movie would probably be Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. I thought Michael Dorn playing an ancestor of Worf was a great touch, and I loved the whole theme of the movie. But it's very, very difficult to find a favorite.

Yes, I suppose it still counts lol I also liked Generations for the same reason! I loved how Kirk and Picard got to meet. I thought that was great!

It's very hard to pick one, but I'm going to vote for "The Final Frontier". It just felt more like TOS than the others, somehow. I didn't like "The Undiscovered Country" at all, simply because it felt like a parody, with the bunk beds and the old fashioned galley and, oh so many other things.

I love WOK, Saw it twice in movie theater when it game out, and over and over through the years. Kirk (Shattner)at his best, Khan (Ricardo Montalbán ) at his best and a tear to my eye at Spock's Funeral. What can beat it.

I like the trilogy @dax - I love Kahn...but I liked the movie because of the original episode. Did you like the episode or was the movie your first introduction to Kahn?

That reminds me of one of the minor glitches in "The Wrath of Khan" -- Khan claims to recognize Chekov! But Chekov wasn't in the episode "Space Seed", in fact he didn't join the crew until Season Two. But all the movies have these annoying little inconsistancies, and you can't get too worked up about them.

Well, the Chekov "glitch" is easily explainable. After all, Chekov just "appeared" on the series (no word of him being transferred or anything), so it's conceivable he was on the ship during "Space Seed," just not on air. Maybe he was working the night shift, or perhaps he was transferred from another area of the ship by the time of the second season. But Walter Koenig once joked that Kahn really had to use the restroom, and he had to wait a long time for Chekov to be finished, and thus how Kahn easily recognizes Chekov.

That's an ingenious explanation, but if Khan remembered his name, he must have appeared in some capacity where Khan could have met him and learned his name (not just on the night shift). And in the movie itself, Chekov recognizes the Botany Bay, which argues that he actually was in on the ship at the time.
