Hello,
I was just wonder what materials are used to create the uniforms that the crew wore on DS9 (both the older and newer uniforms), and what are the names of the color schemes used on each of the 3 different uniforms (the red, yellow, and teal uniforms)?
Like, are they made of wool, or something else?

Hello, I was just wonder what materials are used to create the uniforms that the crew wore on DS9 (both the older and newer uniforms), and what are the names of the color schemes used on each of the 3 different uniforms (the red, yellow, and teal uniforms)? Like, are they made of wool, or something else? I'm not sure what the uniforms would be made of? I would guess that they are some form of synthetic not invented yet. They would use different materials for uniforms for varying environments. They could still possibly use natural materials for making uniforms. This is my educated guess based on what I know. The gold/yellow is for Operations, Security and engineering. The Red is for Command. the Teal is for medical and sciences. I hope this answers some of your questions! You could also refer to "Memory Alpha" for more info on uniforms!

Sometimes though if you look closely the people who were medical officers had more of a green uniform and the people who were science officers had more of the teal uniform.

I used to think it was a lighting problem. Dr. Crusher would appear in a blue uniform in one episode, and that sickly green uniform (that reminds me of hospital scrubs) in the next.
