Can you believe that in The Child (seasons two) was the first time we ever saw Ten Forward? that's weird isn't it?

As important as Ten Forward became, it is a little surprising to realize we didn't see it at all through the first season. But there are other firsts in this episode. This was the first time we met Guinan, too.

Oh yeah Guinan! And Dr. Pulaski took over for Dr. Crusher that season, too.

This was also when Laforge became Chief Engineer. He was acting as the defacto chief engineer before, but still wearing a red command uniform. But starting with season two, he wore the gold engineering uniform. And I think his rank got bumped from lieutenant to lieutenant commander then, too.

The actual story though (the alien impregnating Troi so that it was born in a matter of days) didn't impress me very much. Probably because I remembered a similar story in the Avengers comic book.

Something like that. They had that huge container thing with compartments for various deadly microorganisms. I didn't really understand what it was all for either.

Okay next is Where Silence Has Lease. That's the one with the big dark spot that swallows the ship up. They encounter some bizarre things and then realize they can't get out again.

Yeah, Nagilum was bizarre by any standard. It was a little disappointing though that the only way Picard could think of to escape was by threatening to self-destruct.

How about "Elementary dear Data? What did you think of that one?

Er... I didn't like it much, really. This is because I'm a big Sherlock Holmes fan myself and I think the story could have been better. You get the impression, for example, that Holmes was perfect, that he never made a mistake and never failed a case... and this is just not true. Holmes himself admitted that there were cases he couldn't solve.

the Outrageous Okona was kind of fun though wasn't it? And Terri Hatcher guest starred in that one!

That was the Han Solo type freigher captain, right? I had almost forgotten that one. (I don't have the dvds, so I only get to watch TNG when it comes on television. Right now the BBC America channel is the only one I know that runs it, and they seem to be stuck on season seven.)
