Hi! I've got a queston about the holodeck.... In most of the episodes, everyone who uses the holodeck wears different clothes than the uniform and they still wear them when they stop the program. But in the episode Seven uses the holodeck to program the "romantic Chakotay" (sorry, I don't know the episode's name now), she only wears different clothes during the program- when The Doctor came in to rescue her and switched off the program, her dress turned to "normal".... Is this a mistake? Or do you not have to wear different clothes? But why do they do it, then? In the episode B'elanna uses the holodeck to test a new shuttle, she really wears a space sute.. This is confusing!! Any ideas???

It Is Possible That They Are Changed By The Holodeck Programing As To conform To The Environment There. And When The Program Is Done They Are Instantly Changed Back, As The Holodeck Clothes Are Only Temporary.

Yes, it is confusing. In the movie "First Contact", the holodeck was also able to give Picard and that other woman holographic clothing.
I think it's just a matter of how deeply you want to play the game. If you really want to feel like the character, you go to the trouble of changing into an authentic costume. If you don't want to bother, you can just have the holodeck provide a suitable covering.
What confuses me is that if you weren't wearing an appropriate costume, I would think the holodeck characters would be programmed to ignore your lack of a costume. But they apparently aren't.

Again it is a matter of what the holodeck is programmed to.
It is like computer games, they get better and more advanced, but there are just some classics that never goes out of style, even if they aren't all up to date, and even then, some geeks might take the time to improve upon it.
But the whole matter about clothes, seems to be that before the doctor no one had really bothered programming the layered holo program that is needed for holo clothes to act naturally on living beings.
That is my take on it.

I think that the holo deck clothes issue can be handled the same way as the holo deck foood issue with the settings.

Yes This Is Also True! I Can Agree As It Were Could You Get Full From Holodeck Food Or Would The Sensation Of Being Full Just Be False?? Or Part Of The Program Settings. This Is Fascinating!

As imaginary food would play haywire with the sense and metabolism, and that we do posses transporter and replicator technology, I believe holographic food enjoyed by living beings are made real.
And the best part is you can actually stuff your face, cause with the replicator you can control the fats, proteins, and what ever in the food, so no matter what you eat you will never get more than you need.

It depends also on how much you want to get 'into the spirit' of things. For the holodeck program Captain Proton...Tom Paris and Harry Kim dress up. Also in...I think it was "Fair Haven" Kathryn is in an old dress and tells Chakotay that she is just getting into the spirit of things. In "Spirit Folk" You see Harry Kim dressing up for the Fair Haven program and replicate flowers for his holographic date.
I know this is not Voyager, but in the movie "Generations" Picard and his crew dressed up to give Worf his promotion.
By the way I think the episode name you are referring to might be "Human Error" I am uncertain at this time, but I do know it's in season seven.

I'm not sure if that should be taken as sarcasm or not. A bit hard to tell online. But yeah...I'd say it can get advanced. Especially when holograms help you take back your ship. (or take over as that was the case on Picard's ship.)That happened in a two parter episode of Voyager. Ship got taken over by the Hirogens, and the holograms helped the crew and her captain get command back...sort of. If it has not been noted by now I'm a huge Voyager fan.
