You are right Shakfar. "Star Gate Continuum" is due to air sometime later this year. I have seen the previews for it.

Hmm. I really liked the movie and the novelization of the movie. I didn't care for the show because I thought that they ruined the colonel.

I never thought of it that way! I like both the actors who play Col. O'Neil in the movie and the series! I noticed some change, but never considered it that catastrophic!!

Well, I read the novelization, which had a lot more background, and it got contradicted pretty quickly.

I had no idea since I never read the novel. I hate it when they change things a lot and contradict things!!!!

There are sequels to the novel that set up their own series. I've never found them, but I'd like to one day.

From what you have told me so far Kijuro, the sequel novels probably take a different direction than the series. I do like the series! I am curious to know how they differ from each other!

Well, Jackson's wife survives the sequel books, I think. More background is given on Ra's minions in the first book and he's made into a fascinating character.

Kijuro. Now I want to read the novel! Since you said there is more detail and background information! I like lots of background information and details to clearly define what a story is about and who the characters are!!!!

I watched SG-1 off and on and saw that they introduced Hathor during the show. She was different in the book and I think she's supposed to be the main villain of the book sequels.

When they adapted it into a series, they had to make some changes. For example, the movie pretty much kept with the assumption there was only one stargate, and it went to Abydos, period. That wouldn't have made much of a series.

I would say making it with many star gates was the only way possible to make a good series out of it!!! I liked how they compensated for the movement in stars over the long eons since the star gates were built in the star gate address dialing!!

"Enigma" was on yesterday, where we met the Tolan. Their leader was Omok (played by the actor Tobin Bell, who was the lunatic in those dreadful "Saw" movies).

Atoz. This is an interesting bit of trivia! I never considered watching any of the "Saw" movies! They were on the other day, but I watched something else. I saw the actor who played the charater...and I can't think of his name who was friendly with Carter on the "Outer limits".

I've never watched a Saw movie all the way through either. I just remember reading an article about the first two movies in USA Today, and they talked about the actor Tobin Bell. I recognized him right away. That's Omok!
You're talking about Nareem, I think. I liked him too. When he finally found his way to the new Tolan homeworld later on, he had his house computer programmed with Carter's voice (much to his embarrassment when Carter heard it!). [The same actor later turned up as Elizabeth Weir's boyfriend (whom she left behind on Earth) in Stargate Atlantis.] I've seen quite a few of the Stargate actors on "The Outer Limits". I think they were both filmed in Canada, weren't they?
