I'm not sure if "The Outer Limits" were filmed in Canada or not? I have noticed the same thing about people playing in "Outer Limits" and shows like it to appear later in Star Gate SG1" or "Star Gate Atlantis".

"Thor's Chariot" was on this week, another good episode. They had already known that the Asgard were an alien race who opposed the Goa'uld, but this was the first time they actually met one. Carter and Daniel had to pass tests of courage and wisdom in order to access Thor's hall. Did you notice the mistake they made in that final test?

I saw "Thor's chariot". It was good! I like how when they repaired "Thor's Hammer" it would not harm Teal'c !!

How many mythologies did they eventually interact with?

There was the Asgard, who were from another galaxy entirely. Daniel Jackson's mentor once met Atzec gods (but we never saw them again). Among the Goa'uld, we had Egyptian, Chinese, Celtic, Indian, Greek, even one who called himself Satan. There was mention of a Babylonian, Bellus, but I don't remember seeing any in the series.

Thanks Atoz. I did see part of a show about this once and it sounds right! They did a good job of incorporating the mythology into their episodes/stories!

How did Earth exist without getting blown to bits or turned to glass in territory wars?

Kijuro. I'm not sure since I haven't seen every episode of SG1, but I'm sure it was a close call!!!

With all those "gods" ruling, their turf wars would have to have been armageddon.

On many planets it was!!!
I saw "Secrets" yesterday. Daniel Jackson went back to Abidose to find his wife pregnant with the child of Apothose. The Goauld in her was dormant until she gave birth because it would have killed the unborn child. The child was supposed to grow up to be a new host, but was taken and hidden away and blamed on another system Lord!

How did Earth exist without getting blown to bits or turned to glass in territory wars? I guess mainly because the Goa'uld prefer to rule planets rather than destroy them. When they fight amongst themselves, they seem to enjoy dominating their enemies. They often capture their opponents so that they can torture them to death, bring them back to life, then do it again. If your opponent has been reduced to a dust, its hard to gloat over his downfall.

The child was supposed to grow up to be a new host, but was taken and hidden away and blamed on another system Lord! Yes, the Harsesis. He turns up later under the tutelage of Oma Desala, right? And I remember a couple of other pantheons. There was Amaterasu, a Japanese goddess, and Baal, a Canaanite god.

I like the rebel goaulds called the Tokra. I have taped some episodes about them. They have a true symbiotic relationship with their human hosts!
