They might feel more at home with the Ferengi, as their big foreheads might remind them of themselves.

Kijuro! Maybe the Talosains would like to read the Ferengi minds as they dream about earning profit? ;D

The reason I said Ferengi is that they have high telepathic resistance. Something to do with four-lobed brains. That would be funny, though, if it worked.

Reg Barclay from the Enterprise-D with his holo-addiction would have love this sort of situation since it would be even more real than being on the holo-deck! And that's exactly why the Talosians wouldn't accept him as a volunteer! Poor Reg had a hard enough time accepting reality without putting him in touch with Talos IV. But that's a point. Holodecks are much more common in TNG's time period, and as people became accustomed to them, I would expect people to also become more disciplined in their use. After all, when on the Enterprise have you ever seen a line waiting outside a holodeck to use it? More discipline might mean better resistance to telepathic illusions.

Atoz. I never thought of it like this before. Thanks for the info! Reg Barclay always did have problems with reality.

Reg was annoying. As racy as Next Gen was, could you imagine what some of his holodeck scenes would have been like if it had been a post-watershed show in the UK?

Reg Barclay got better with time. He did get Voyager home years later. Since I'm not from the UK, what exactly do you mean Kijuro?

Later on in the evening, British broadcast TV is allowed to be a lot more risque than American TV. I'm saying imagine what the crew would have walked into if the show were written now?

I didn't know this about TV in the UK being more risque later in the evening! Is it a lot more or a little more risque than late night American TV?

Yes. Could you imagine having kids and then they would be channel surfing and get a bunch of that?

I don't want to imagine this!
Back to the topic.
They never did say how many other species the Talosains had. This would have been interesting!
