If you watch VI again, pay attention to what the Excelsior's original message was, and what the suggestion for the "homing torpedo" was.

I read that Ohio has also moved to allow gay marriages. How many states does that make, now? Anyone know? It wasn't Ohio that allows gay marriage, it was IOWA! Plus Massachusetts, Vermont, and Maine. And New Hampshire passed a bill, but still needs the governor to sign it.

I knew several states passed laws allowing "Gay Marriage", but don't know which ones. I was thinking California was one of them, but am not sure. I don't follow things much that don't interest me or don't effect me.

I'm glad he's out of the closet and happier. He and his love make such a cute couple. I hope they can merry and live happily without the government taking away their rights. In the self proclaimed best country on earth, you'd think consenting adults would have the right to merry the man/woman they love, even if it's 2 men or 2 women. Being gay is a natural thing. Animals out in nature have had relations with other animals of the same sex, so what all those religious zealots who yell that it's Satan's work can shove it. People of faith have a right to voice their opinion against gay marriage as gays have to voice being for gay marriage. Christianity isn't the only religion to be against homosexuality--Judaism and Islam also express disapproval of the practice. Some people do use it as a excuse for hate, but most people follow it to obey God's word. And you don't have to be religious to be a zealot for a cause.

Pretty much all major religions are against homosexuality, and its ok to teach your followers its wrong, but interfering with people who arent christian is wrong in my opinion Also i saw George on Justin Lee Collins "Bring back Star Trek" Program, he made an appearance, and was looking healthy, he couldnt make it so actually allowed them to video him and appear on the view screen, you see Justin made his own ship and got some of the original cast to play as his crew, Shat refused, but Nemoy gave an interview. Got it www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwG4xPvxtNs

Modern western civilization is more tolerant of homosexuals than in some other countries where they are put to death for practicing it.

I don't follow things much that don't interest me or don't effect me. It doesn't directly impact on me either, but I keep an eye on this situtation because any time people are unfairly discriminated against, it indirectly affects us all. So far we've been talking about America mostly. Does anyone know if gay marriage has been legalized in Britain or in Europe?

However we are in agreement that at some point wherever you live, you will encounter a certain amount of homosexual intolerance, if its due to religion or the populace at some point

So does that mean the Church of England is okay with it?

The Church of England has made many concessions. They passed a statement saying that it wasn't a sin, but "fell short of ideal conduct." This was because at the time it was estimated that a third of their clergy was gay.

This is something that sort of gets overlooked in discussions of this topic. Homosexuality might be a "sin", but in reality that's not the issue. The issue is whether homosexuals should have the right to marry one another, the way heterosexuals do. According to the church, we are all "sinners", so I wonder why it should matter?
