This is the episode where we met Sela the Romulan, the alleged daughter of Tasha Yar. I don't think so. If we remember "Yesterday's Enterprise", Tasha joined the Enterprise C in the full expectation that it was a "suicide mission". As a security officer, she would have been well aware of the danger of allowing herself to be captured by the Romulans and mind-sifted for her tactical knowledge, and she would have done anything to avoid that risk. We would have to imagine the unlikely scenario of the Romulans stunning the survivors so they wouldn't kill themselves (have we ever known Romulans to do that?). Then, we further imagine that threatened with the death by torture of her friend, Richard Castillo, she might agree to willingly mate with a Romulan senator. But unless she had gone completely senile by this time, I cannot imagine her ever telling anybody that she came from an alternate universe some 20 years in the future! It doesn't make sense!
In fact, if you remember the scenario in "Yesterday's Enterprise", it was precisely to prevent that alternate future from existing that she undertook the mission at Narendra III in the first place. Granted I only took one semester of Temporal Physics at the Academy, but from what I remember, once she had altered the past, the new timeline would have taken over and the alternate Tasha Yar would have disappeared, in the same way the alternate "battleship Enterprise" returned to what we consider normal.
If this were fiction, I would speculate that the "writers" had been watching too many soap operas. As it is, the only reasonable conclusion I can come up with is that the Romulans somehow prepared a clone and fed her this fake story for some bizarre reason. I suppose (as Captain Picard speculated) they hoped that seeing Tasha Yar's "daughter" might cause confusion. We all know that the Romulans are creatures of emotion, and not nearly as logical as their Vulcanite cousins.

I believe it was just that the fan boys wanted to see her in another episode. I think she could have existed in this other universe because the Federation would be focused on war, not exploration. Therefore, the events that lead to her being killed were null and void. So technically she could have gone back for the suicide mission and changed the past.

About the reunification episodes 1 and 2....one of my favorites!!! As far as Sela...Tasha's daughter.....I believe it was an alternate timeline as well as existing in a parallel universe.....difficult to understand...I can visually in my mind understand vividly, but can't fully explain in words!!!! even if I wrote a novel about it!!!

I have got some ideas for novels...some trek some not but they are in the early stages and I haven't worked on them much lately, but you both ( Zack and leopardessgirl) are giving me new motivation to get back to these writing projects. I have time lines, outlines, and summaries of stories written down with a lot of things in my mind I haven't written down yet, but should!!!!

In the 2 part episode of "Reunifacation".....I liked most the interaction of Spock and Data......The funny part was the Klingon Captain remarking to Data in Romulan disguise about some Romulan Beauty licking the paint off of his face. I was hopeful that the outcome of this story would have been more peaceful!

I didn't care too much for "Reunification". I think in the thread on "Relics" I mentioned that I normally didn't care for cameo appearances by the original cast members, and this was the episode I was thinking of. I liked seeing Spock again, but it just didn't seem that his role was handled well. I wish I could explain it better than that. But if you need ideas for novels, you might check out the story Baggy and I collaborated on (in the Misc RPG section) called "Voyager meets TNG". It was originally intended as a role-playing game, but neither of us knew what we were doing, so it ended up just being a story we wrote together. The basic premise is that Janeway wakes up one day in Sickbay to find herself captain of the Enterprise. I modestly think it would make a pretty good short novel if it were expanded and developed better.
