I'm glad to hear that! It's just that some fans of the older generation expect/accept things one way and younger fans expect/accept something else and this leads to disagreement and possible conflict over it!

Plus, some things from TOS didn't make sense, such as how Zefram Cochrane was the one who invented warp drive, but suddenly everyone has warp, so they were ignored. No, I got the impression that Cochrane was the first HUMAN to invent warp drive. Other cultures also had it, some before, or some later. Otherwise there's no way it could have spread (for example to the Klingons or Romulans) in only 150 years.

I agree with the idea that a post-Voyager timeline show would have been excellent - or even that "Captain Sulu" show that was rumored for years. Either way, even though the new movie re-energized (pardon the pun) the franchise, at that time it seemed for TV fans were looking for more familiarity than Enterprise offered.

I wasn't expecting the next Star Trek series after Voyager to be a prequel, but I did like enterprise! I also still think a post Nemesis series would have been a good choice for a future Star Trek series! It still can be!

Quite, right, Andrew. I think that we'll get another two to four Pine movies before they redo TNG, instead, though. Say two years between films, we can see Lil' Picard in 2019.

Kijuro. If this is the new formula for re-making Star Trek, then I would say you are making a fairly accurate prediction. This is assuming any new movies or series are made. I would like to see a series made in the 25th century or later. I'm not saying that some of the crew could be descended, from or related to characters in Star Trek series.

There are a lot of good ideas people could come up with! The question is which ones will succeed as a series?

Animated, probably.

Kijuro. Why do you think an animated series will make it? The one made in the 70's didn't last long.

Animated shows are in now for movie tie-ins. Not a standard production, but I can see them doing a webshow or something like those Clone Wars shorts from a few years back. That worked well for Star Wars, but I don't think that format would work well for Trek.
I don't see a show being made using this current cast being live-action. All of the actors are either movie stars or on their way up. It doesn't seem like they would be agreeable to tying themselves down to a lower-budget project. Animated series never have to worry about looking corny.

Thanks for the explination Kijuro. It does make a lot of sense in light of circumstances.

I don't think a short-format animated show would work well, but I can see it happening.

Something running for a season or two and getting canceled like the TOS animated series right!?!
