People just assume that when something happens for the first time in our area of the galaxy that something 'big' or 'disastrous' is meant to happen. As for me, it's a bunch of nonsense and look, we are still alive

Yes, we are. What gets me is the Earth hasn't had time to complete one revolution around the galaxy in the entire history of the human race. How were the Mayans supposed to figure out what would happen?

Good Question.
Also some people believe that the Mayan calendar was wrong because they didn't incorporate leap years, so I don't know how they could have been right in the first place.
Heck, even the Mayans currently alive didn't believe in their own calendar lol. They thought nothing was going to happen, and look, they were right!
