What i can't figure about telepathy is wehre the engergy comes from to broadcast over that distance! I mean the human body only produces about half a watt of current if that.
Okay what bout the next episode "The Big Goodbye"? This is where Picard and Crusher and Data get on the holodeck and play Dixon Hill.

Oh god, yes. I remember they shot that historian guy and...actually I maybe need to watch it I have no idea why the bad guys were...well, doing what they did...was it a holodeck malfunction again?

In this one I think it was the Jarada. Yes, the Jarada were an insectlike race Picard was supposed to be meeting. Their ship scanned the Enterprise and the scan somehow caused the holodeck to malfunction. And that brings up something I never thought of before. Maybe the scan had something to do with that holodeck character becoming self-aware. That was always the thing I disliked about this episode. Holodeck characters simply should not do that. There would be no parameter in the computer which should make it possible. But if it had something to do with the scan, that might make some sense. But I haven't seen it in a long time too.
What was the name that Data used? I remember he had to pass himself off as an albino in "Time's Arrow"...

I tend to agree. It woundn't make sense for holodeck characters to even pretend to be sentient. But if it was the scan somehow... do you think it might have carried like a semi-sentient spambot or something?
As for Data's name... wasnt it Carlos or something like that?

A spambot? I wasn't thinking along those lines, but that's a good idea. A normal sensor scan would tell them about the physical structure of the ship, but it would take something semi intelligent to be able to access the ship's computer. Once inside, it found the holodeck and the rest as they say is history.
"Carlos from South America." That's it!

Or a data spider or something. And that same spider could have lain dormant in the cmoputer and that's how we explain MOriarty!

Moriarty, yes! That has always been something of a thorn to me, how the computer could just create a sentient holodeck character if the computer itself isn't sentient. But that actually makes a certain sense.

the next in line is "Datalore". I don't really remember this one very well. They were visiting Theta Omicron, where Data was originally found, and in a secret laboratory they find Lore. Is that how it went? It wasn't a very good story, I thought.

This was really our first glimpse of Data's background, where he came from and so on, so I liked it for that reason. The old "evil twin" idea kind of threw me for a loop, but overall it wasn't so bad.

And you kind of guessed from the start that Lore was going to try and take his place...

Yeah, that too... The next episode is "Angel One", isn't it? Any thoughts on it?

That was the one with the planet dominated by women right? And men were servants? Pretty neat ideabut I thought it was kind of sexist too you know? I mean they were worried that a handfull of men were going to completely take over the planet? Get real!

I know what you mean. And the planet's leader was so stern and implacable through the whole episode, but in the end she just caved! That doesn't say much for a woman's resolve, does it?
At the same time, there was that disease running through the Enterprise, remember?

Yes, I think so, transmitted by water - Picard got it through that snowball of Wesley's didn't he?
(How does that even work outside the holodeck?)
