"Home Soil" was the one about silicon based lifforms in the sand of this one planet they were trying to terraform. i dont know about you admiral but I found that idea very unconvincing.

In what way was in unconvincing? I think it's possible for silicon based life to exist. If it did, it would probably start as semiconductor microorganisms. Wouldn't it?

that would be reasonable enough sir. But how would microscopic creatures be aware of what was happening at a macroscopic level? all they would know is that something huge was killiing them. how would they know how to infiltrate the machinery?

I see what you're saying. But I think we're talking about a macroscopic colony in this case. The individual components might be microscopic, like cells are in a body, but they made up one vast creature with a brain.

you mean one brain, just spread out into individual particles? Okay I think i see your point. I was probably thinking more of the third season story, Evolution.

"Coming of Age"... isn't that the one where Wesley took a Starfleet entrance exam against three other applicants? Or am I thinking of the wrong one?

There was one "test" that didn't make a lot of sense though. It would seem to me that an alien who was infuriated by courtesy wouldn't do very well in Starfleet. But that's just me I guess.

The other "test" though about the disaster in the life support room. That was sort of like the test Troi had to take for Commander wastn't it?

Congratulations for noticing that! Now that you mention it, it was a similar sort of test. Only in Troi's case, she knew it was a holodeck simulation. Go figure that one out.

Heart of Glory is the next one, where they met those renegade Klingons. I kind of liked this one. I wasn't sure for a minute there if Worf was going to join them or not.

Oh the renegade Klingons. I personally don't like stories about Klingons very much, but since this was the first one, it wasn't so bad. It was very interesting that as soon as they got to their quarters, that one went straight to the food slot and ordered synthehol! Synthehol???

I rather like the Death Howl or whatever they called it. That was a glimpse into a very alien culture.
